Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to Sonic Shipping, a freight forwarding service operated in Kingston, Jamaica. By using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms are designed to ensure a smooth and transparent process, protecting both Sonic Shipping and our customers.

2. Service Description

Sonic Shipping provides freight forwarding services that allow customers to ship packages from a warehouse in Florida, USA, to Kingston, Jamaica. Customers are responsible for placing orders with online vendors and arranging for delivery to the Sonic Shipping warehouse in Florida.

3. Customer Registration

To use our services, customers must sign up through the Sonic Shipping platform.
Upon registration, customers will receive a unique ID and the address of our warehouse in Florida.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that this unique ID is included in all shipments to the warehouse.

4. Operational Partners

Sonic Shipping utilises third-party partners in its operations.
CAL (Caribbean Airlines) handles the warehousing of packages in Florida, USA.
AJAS handles ground services and logistics related to customs clearance within Kingston, Jamaica.

5. Shipment Handling

Sonic Shipping, through its partner CAL, will receive packages at the warehouse, consolidate them, and ship them to Kingston, Jamaica, using air freight.
Sonic Shipping, through its partner AJAS, is responsible for handling all customs clearance processes once the packages arrive in Jamaica.
Customers will be notified once their packages have cleared customs.

6. Delivery of Packages

Once cleared, customers must select a delivery location within Kingston, Jamaica.
Sonic Shipping will arrange for the delivery of packages to the specified location within Kingston.
The customer must be present to receive the package. If the customer is not available at the time of delivery, Sonic Shipping may charge additional fees for re-delivery or storage.
If a customer wishes to have their package delivered outside of Kingston, Sonic Shipping can arrange for it to be done at an additional cost. This service can include options such as delivery via Knutsford Express.

7. Payment Terms

The cost of the service is based on the weight of the package, rounded up to the nearest pound.
Duties and customs fees are included in the final cost provided to the customer.
Customers have the option to pay for their packages via a bank card using the Sonic Shipping platform when setting up delivery.
If a customer does not wish to pay via bank card, they may choose to pay in person at the time of delivery.
Payment is due upon delivery of the package to the customer’s specified location. Sonic Shipping reserves the right to hold packages until payment is received in full.

8. Prohibited Items

Customers must not ship items that are prohibited by Jamaican law or by international air freight regulations.
Sonic Shipping will not be responsible for packages that are confiscated by customs due to the inclusion of prohibited items.

9. Liability

Sonic Shipping is not responsible for any damage to items that occurred before they were received at our warehouse in Florida by our partner CAL.
In the event of loss or damage to a package while in Sonic Shipping’s possession or that of its partners, our liability will be limited to the declared value of the goods or the actual loss incurred, whichever is less.
Sonic Shipping is not liable for delays caused by customs clearance, natural disasters, or other events beyond our control.

10. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Jamaica.
Any disputes arising from the use of Sonic Shipping services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jamaica.

11. Amendments

Sonic Shipping reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
Customers will be notified of any significant changes to the terms and conditions.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By using Sonic Shipping’s services, customers agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
